if attraction is mostly explained by evolutionary biology, then how do you

explain all this? there are so many things that contradict what we're wired to be attracted to biologically. here are two examples.

first off, women are wired to be attracted to well built men. however, i was talking to two girls recently who were talking about how they did not find arnold scwartzeneger and sylvester stalone attractive because they are "too built" and even said it was gross.

secondly, men in particular are wired to be attracted to mroe youthful women, because it means they are more fertile. but last night, i saw the movie fired up with some friends which was about two guys who go to a cheerleading camp. the movie was full of hot cheerleaders in their teens and early 20s. but my two friends seemed most impressed by the cheerleading instructor who looked like she was in her 30s. it's not just this time, lots of guys seem to have a thing for older women. even my friend who is extremely picky about looks and is usually into the most conventionally beautiful women has a thing for older women.

if evolutionary biology determines what we're attracted to then why do a lot of the things we're attracted to contradict that?
i, too find older women attractive, however, unlike my friend, i don't think "oh, a good looking older woman, that's soooooooo hot". i used to be kind of like that but right now she actually has to be my type. if there's a girl my age who is my type and a hot older women who is not my type, i'd be more attracted to the girl my age.
