Many Americans do not know that if they were to do the same as Mexicans do here, crossing into the country without permission, the Mexican immigration authorities would send them straight to jail. Not only that, but you'd be a target of extreme racism and probably brutal abuse by the locals. Mexicans in general just don't like Americans. That's why the U.S. Consulate warns us not to venture into such a third world country. The Battle of the Alamo, the Battle at Goliad and the Battle of San Jacinto still have not subsided.
If any American illegally crossed into Mexico, would he go to jail?
