If America had more resources focused on one war, and not two, is there better chance of success?

If America didn't go to Iraq, would the war in Afghanistan be more successful?

I doubt it, as far as I know just about anyone who has tried to occupy that country from Alexander the Great to the Soviet Union has been defeated. The United States will be one more country that will join that list. The original reason for getting into Afghanistan was to capture Osama bin Laden, not to occupy that country.

One has nothing to do with the other. Arm chairing is fun but serves no useful purpose. The realities on the ground in Afghanistan MAY be different if we had more troops on the ground since day one, if the national police had been better trained by the British and if we did a better job of reaffirming that we wanted to LEAVE as soon as we could to let the Afghan people run their country... More to it of course but that is a good start

Maybe and maybe not because even Obama himself is saying "well i don't know if more troops is the answer" so the issue is deeper than "what if we put more troops there in 01"
No, a few things here.
1- what is success in Afghanistan? (killing Alqueda/taliban) and they keep coming and going from country.
2- what others said, we have enough to sweep the country. Problem is we push them out, they come back in. Or we push them underground (hiding) they come out. Yeah, I think more boots on the ground is always a better Idea. We can leave Iraq I think and It wont implode, but as far a stratigic operations bases, why would we really want to leave?
You know what? lets pull out of germany and Europe, I'm pretty sure they're safe from invasion now. There I have singlehandedly solved our "Troop Crisis"
