still married? My brother was in this position but unfortunately has just died. His girlfriend of the past 8 years is wanting to arrange the funeral, claiming my brother named her as next of kin (I know that it was her that the police informed when he was found ) but I am saying that the fact that her name was on a form provided by my brother does not make her legally next of kin and that the funeral should be done by his wife .
