If a body is moving in a straight line and a force F acts on it in the same direction, but force f is opposite?

so F acts in the same direction of motion, but f is a resistive force in the opposite direction, what is the change of momentum equal to?
F
f
F-f
F+f

?
I think it's F+f because wouldn't the value for f be negative?
Thanks
