...storage lockers, do I have to pay? I live in Montreal, Quebec.
My condo building has 6 units and 6 lockers. The builder originally distributed 3 lockers to unit1 and other 3 to unit2. It's written on their deeds. We never had any problem since the tenants in unit 3-6 never needed a locker and we never cared. Then unit 3 sold the condo, new neighbor came in. They asked for a locker but unit 1 and 2 didn't want to give them up since they bought them. Now on the new neighbor's deed, it says each unit has a locker. So they decided to get a lawyer/notary to settle this. Meanwhile, the rest of us don't even want a locker and even if the new neighbor wins the case, we don't get a locker anyway.
I find it unfair for us to split the notary fee base on the size of our condos. And the notary fee never stops, and there seems to be no end to it.
Do I really have to spend thousands of money for some other people's problem? It's not condo fee, or repair, or any maintenance... What can I do? I don't have the money to spend on this. Do the directors have the power to stop the on going process with the notary?
