...doubt new GOP fiscal discipline?
The GOP/Bush years of $5.5 Trillion in new DEBT should be remembered and not allow GOP to run on fiscal responsibility issues ever again.
Otherwise, don't complain so much about Obama/DEMs spending, now. Both parties are now no different. GOP should find NEW and positive policies to convince us to vote for them again. Don't use the "fiscally responsible" Party BS ever again.
GOP Congress 1994-2006 (18 months in there with Daschle Chamber)
Bush POTUS 2001-2008
Regardless of Obama/DEM spending today under times of duress and economic disaster, the GOP spent like fools during supposed "good times". GOP never governed based on fiscal conservatism ideals.
So, why ever go back to GOP thinking they have a better plan on spending and smaller government. It's BS.
2 Wars, Medicare D = UNFUNDED = Off The Books
2 Financial Recessions/Meltdowns
Morgan Stanley, AIG, GM, Goldman Sachs bankruptcies
Health Care cost explosion during the 2000s
BP/Gulf Oil Crisis – lack of regulation/oversight/cronyism
GOP Congress 1994-2006
Bush POTUS 2000-2008
George W. Bush did NOT veto 1 single piece of SPENDING legislation in 8 years –
