if 2 cars hit at 50km/hour...?

2 cars hit at let's say, 50km/h, wouldn't the impact be stronger than 50km/h? like if both cars were at 50km/h? is the still an impact of 50 or 100 or ????
i know NOTHING about physics, i was hoping i could get an idea here?
