At last - fantastic bit of casting. I love the books but hated the films. Who on earth cast Morgan Freeman, who I like, as Alex Cross for the first two films...crazy !! Just hope the films echo the books this time round. This guy owned The Wire. :)
 
It seems a lot of American casting directors share your view. :) So many US TV shows have a lot of Brits laying Americans.

Also it is cheaper to hire Brits. :D

Anyway, Idris is a great actor.
 
Although it's an improvement over the lazy and idiotic casting of Freeman, I still think it's another miscasting for the character.
 
I remember reading a few of the Alex Cross novels about 10 years ago and my over-riding memory of the main character is what a tedious goody-two-shoes he is. Are the films any better?
