it has 1.8l 4cyl. engine that is sluggish i am going to replace it in about 3-4 months but untill then any ideas on how to keep it going? maybe even give it a little more get up 'n' go
any advise is appreciated
also i forgot to mention that i have to feather the accelerator on a cold start for about 2-4mins before itll pick up on its own
replace the engine not the truck tune-up meaning? oil change..wires/plugs..what else? not a mechanic and funds are limited so ill be doing the repairs myself.

Disconnect and then reconnect both ends of the spark plug wires one by one hoping to make the electrical connections better for better ignition spark to the spark plugs.

It never was exactly zippy, now, was it? We had a Ford Courier at about that time, pretty much the same equipment and power, not fast by any means.

Try running a couple of cans of fuel injector cleaner into the tank. Replace the plugs and plug wires, and just for the heck of it, check the lube levels in the tranny and diff. Reduce some of the drag that's eating into your meager stash of power.

I'd be strongly inclined to keep the truck. If it's still running, there's no great need to replace it, so long as it does what you need it to do. And for the money you'd drop on a new one, you can do an awful lot of big repairs. Your only limiting factor will be parts availability, and as I recall that was a rebadged Isuzu, and Isuzu had a lot of presence in the US at the time. You should be able to bring everything up to spec.
