I've got a character in my manga who battles using familiars, (animal spirits). She has two key ones, called Inugami and Okami (dog and wolf respectively), but besides that I'm not sure what animals to use. Both Inugami and Okami can be fully materialized, but I wanted the other spirits to give my character an ability, rather than become a solid form to assist directly in combat. For example, a dragon familiar would grant her the ability to breathe fire, a bull would give her greater strength, etc.
Now, can you do me a favour and list any animals that would be good to use, (either real or mythical), and the ability that that animal spirit would grant my character? Thanks.
nestle v , beside my character being a she, not a he, she does have more animal spirits. That's the point, just not ones she can summon, just ones that she can draw power from. Think of it as there being many people who could harvest the power of animal spirits, but few who can make one materialize, and MAYBE one person who can make them all materialize. Though, I do see that you've made a pretty good point.
