Ideas for indoor plants for mom and mother-in-law?

I bought my mom and future mother-in-law each an indoor pot as a thank you gift for our upcoming wedding in May. I need some ideas for plants or flowers I can plant in them. We'd like to give them at the rehearsal dinner.
