Idea for small cottage start up business?

In an effort to generate income, I’d like to use my desk top publishing skills. I enjoy the work very much and the start-up cost is reasonably low. I have experience of working in a very large funeral were the owners offered a very wide range of memorial media (funeral programs, laminated obituaries, videos comprised of photos of the deceased I earlier times and photos of the flowers that were sent to the funeral home to add to the deceased memorial book (the book you sign when you attend a visitation, wake or funeral). Most families don’t remember the flowers from the funeral home due to their state of mind at the time. The photos give them something to remember.
The area funeral homes don’t offer these serves, nor do they plan to add these services (probably due to their size) I know I can get portfolios of my work in the hands of funeral homes. Whether or not they show my portfolios to families when they go to the funeral home to make arrangements is a different story. It’s been my experience that people love the laminated obituaries and in most cases use them as Bible or other book markers. The lamination is a more durable item and obituaries don’t get lost, turn yellow and tear over time. An ad in the local paper offering my service is a no brainer, but would you consider it in poor taste to send one laminated obituary to the family’s home along with an order form to purchase more laminated obituaries?
