Idea for a school mini garden?

I'm in charge of a the garden club at my high school and I have to come up with ideas for an activity for the garden club. It doesn't have to be merely planting or taking care of the garden, but it can also be other recreational activities such repainting the benches in the park or even a mural on wood blocks which are located in the park as well -although we have done that already. We have a budget of $200, but I am willing to spend some of my own money if need be. Also, any ideas on where to buy flowers in bulk in NYC? I've tried looking around, but a lot of the flowers aren't entirely exotic and I just may have to live with that.
 
k for a bunch of seeds cheap and quick try www.wildseedfarms.com or ebay. now how about sprucing up the look with decorative recycling bins for cans and plastic bottles? it will look nice and you often get money on these recycled items when taken in to recycle, which will mean more money for the garden club in the future. now being on your budget have you ever considered making flyers asking people to donate flowers, shrubbery or unused seeds? alot of people who have these items in their yards that dont like them will let you have them if you dig them up. and believe it or not even everyday daisies are gorgeous if arranged properly.
