So a few years ago i got into a "fight" with 3 people. I pressed charges against all three of them. One, had to pay restitution because she broke property, one spent two days in jail. These two didn't physically touch me, only verbally threatend me. The last girl actually hit me twice in the face. I was threatened by all of them that if i fought back the would pretty much kill me. She got off on a "Bond forfeiture" which means she paid about $300 and got it off her record completely. like a get out of jail free card. (Note that all three were adults over 18).
Now, I'm reading about Civil Law right now, which made me think of this, and it says that any party can appeal the decision. But would this be considered criminal since the state was pressing the charges? Could I have appealed this decision?
