My teacher read this one to the class in 3rd grade.
The story was based through the eyes of a child, and she imagined her parents words as literal. Mom would say 'run along and be a dear', and the kid would think 'be a deer', the picture would show the girl with antlers. Mom says her friends are coming over to play bridge, the kid pictures them all laying down, forming a bridge across the living room.
Those are the only 2 pages I recall.
