No he isnt...i'd say though that he is one of the most classy, talented, and un-steroid conected player and certainly a deserving player of an MVP. I think the best modern era player without any steroids would be Curt Schilling or Albert Pujols because they are clutch and come through when the team needs them. That is the definition of a MVP and best player, not some one who hits 58 homers without a series ring and cheats on his wife cough*arod*cough

best player ever: you could argue the Babe, DiMaggio, Cy Young, Hank Aaron, etc. Ichiro shouldn't even be in the same sentence as these guys
best modern player: Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez (yes i know they took 'roids, but they're still great), Albert Pujols, Greg Maddux

Ryan you have so much to learn. Home runs are not everything. And you forgot Bob Gibson, Pete Rose, Joe Jackson, Rogers Hornsby etc.
Ichiro is certainly amongst the best all around players who ever played the game. Even Ty Cobb would have to admit that the guy from Japan is one of the greats.
