ic502 with PhoneTools !!! READ !!

I recently got PhoneTools for my PC to use with my new ic502. The process of configuration took a while, and ultimately the Techs @ Motorola told me to have PhoneTools manually recognize my phone as a v323. It is essentially the same phone and I have used it so far for pictures and with ringtones with no problems.
The one problem I have heard of was synching your contacts due to the Nextel ID #s. The one problem is that if there is a DC ID# and a WORK phone # the system swaps them for some reason.

The MediaCenter is great, and the tools to crop pictures and sounds work seamlessly with the phone.

The one thing that I cant figure out is how to adjust the volume of my songs that I have put on the phone. They are being sent to the phone in MP3 format and are WAYYYY to loud. The tone rings at about a 7 (most on my phone) when the volume is set to 1 .
Any help?

I p.med your answer to add though nextels are pretty dif then regular moto's, their mp3 format, wave format, gif format, (hell if it's the smallest bit off it won't work on your phone at all) I don't beleive mpt is the best program to use to transfer anything to a nextel, you'll notice that everyone calls it a nextel not a moto or a motorola. Iden has software specifically for nextels such as myjal and webjal if you p.m. camstuf I'm sure she'd be more then happy to help or just search the nextel forums and you should find the best program, although you my have to download a program called active sync if your phones a smart phone. My friends in the nextel forum will help you from here. I'll move this thread there now. Good luck.

I just made a ic502 Sticky for ya.

As for the volume, I use DbPoweramp to convert and normalize (lower the volume) of my ringtones before I transfer to phones.

To add to Griffzan: these new phones are Hybrids not Nextel, motorola, etc. The JALs will not work with them, only MPT4.

Thanks for the info. I went to the Iden website and found the method for transfer of contacts information. Unfortunately their software specifically excludes the ic502. I requested details from their cssv on what to do if you have an ic502 and am awaiting their reply.

I just finished the same install. You have to fail on your 1st install, and then the 2nd time around you are provided an additional dialog box to complete that allows you to select your own model number.
