Hi,

Iam 26years of age and got married about a year back.I started forgetting things just about then after I got married, but dismissed it thinking,it might be becos of the new house and new environment, but off lately,I forget things like taking medicines, carrying my credit card or phone, and even major things.I would think of doing a task about a minute back,I turn around and I completely forget what i was thinking.I had pre-mature greying of hairs from childhood, but off lately its incresed dramatically covering my entire scalp in less than 6-8months.I have lost of sense of direction,i switch on the wrong set of switches, put on the fan instaed of the light, stuff like that.
I have been going thru some family disturbances, not getting along with the in-laws and constant arguments with the husband, but other than that I sleep properly, and eat properly.
Appreciate If anyone could suggest what is wrong with me.

Do your medications have any side effects for cognitive funtioning? You should look into this. I take Topamax and my doctor calls it Dopeamax for its main side effect. Bad Cognitive Functioning which includes short term memory loss!!

Some times I get up out of my room fill up my water and forget why I went into the kitchen... I have terrible time remembering peoples names.

The only way I know how to help this is to keep the brain working and make sure your not letting things float over your head.

Make sure the medications your taking dont have these side effects, if they do then this is your problem. Over time it does subside and get a bit better because your body gets use to it but it will never go away completely..

P.S.
I am 20 years old.

The family disturbances and arguments with your husband can cause anxiety and anxiety can cause forgetfullness because your mind is preoccupied with worry. Try to relax and pay attention when you are doing things. You can also make a list to help remind yourself to take meds, turn off lights etc. I wish you well.

Premature greying of hair is a sign of predisposition to thyroid disease, which would easily explain the kind mental dysfunction ("brain fog") you have.
Get your thyroid tested.

I agree, it could be stress and thyroid. I have hypothyroidism and stress and I have the forgetful fuzzy thinking. So check yout thyroid and try to lower your stress. Good luck!
