I860 Wallpaper

based on your question, it sounds like you're farther along than I am in being able to use personal pics as wallpaper on this phone.

I was told by nextel that you can't make a picture you send to the phone wallpaper... it sounds like you're able to do it, correct?
I'm able to get a pic over to the phone but I can't set it as wallpaper, only as a caller ID.

Any picture I have on my computer i can crop and resize with Irfanview to 176X220 pixels. Then of course I use Myjal to put the pic on the phone with my laptop.

There are tutorials here that explain the process

I have seen that you can load bigger files in but you can also load the pics as jpg's if you want, loading bigger pics is going to limit how many you can put on keep that in mind when making wallpapers and you can convert your wav ringtones to mp3 tones and cut the file size down too making it possible to put more on as well. If you don't have it allready go to www.dbpoweramp.com and download the converter you can make any audio file any other type of file you want very handy program to have for making ringtones the right file type.

well you would believe incorrectly then because the new i860 most certainly can decode and play a mp3 try it! and don't use that damn myjal use webjal version 3 with the patch.

Yes. I have some wallpapers at 28K. As long as they are 176X220 GIF it will work.

I can't get MP3's to work. Go to www.walmart.com and try to put one of there MP3 samples on your phone. By the way Walmart is an excellent place to get free rings for your phone. Do a search for which band or song you want. I had to convert them to .wav though. I use dbpoweramp.

mp3 from walmart site worked just fine, you have to down covert them with dbpoweramp but after that load them right with webjal like before mentioned and should be allset I had no problems at all with it
when using power amp set the coverting -----file to "Mp3 (lame)

------Bit rate should be at 32kbps

---channels mono

---- Frequency 8000 hz

with these settings your mp3's will load and play just fine on a i860 have fun with it .
