i830 ringtones

I am needing to know the difference bwtn polyphonic, .wav,mp3 and .midi? Can mp3 be downloaded to i830? I have found the ringtone I want on this site but I am not sure how to download it to my phone. can the download take place over the air or do I need to use data cable? :confused:

i think poly and midi are the same type. they are just sounds or beats, no words. wav and mp3 are similar, but mp3 are smaller. they both have the actual song, midi and poly are not. as far as i know the i830 doesnt take mp3, but i could be wrong. it wouldnt hurt to try, but i know wav will work for sure.
