I don't think this situation is password protected. I see the lady at the front desk plugging thes phones into her computer via usb, then she down loads all my supervisors and foreman into the nextel. Anyone can call me on the nextel, but I'm restricted to the numbers that are programmed in my nextel.
I can do you one better. I work for the State of Florida. Employees are allowed to use the NEXTELs for work calls, but not personal calls... regardless of if we use up the minutes in our plans or not. The state charges its employees 69 cents/min. (don't ask how they came up with that price... I don't want to go there) for personal use. The logs are reconciled at the end of the month and we have to provide the state agency we work for the name of the client/business associate whose number it is. I said to hell with that, got a phone and rate plan off their enterprise account and pay for it myself. have the Free Incoming 300 and tell people to call me if necessary on it. I always try to locate land lines if I need to place a call or send SMS to their e-mail accounts to have them call me.
the way to get around the key pad disabled is to
1.download nextels phonebook manager.
2.save the phone book from your phone on the computer.
3.erase the phonebook in your phone.
4.then open the saved phonebook on your computer and add the contacts that you want to be able to dial.
5.resave the phone book to your computer
6.upload new phonebook from computer back to phone
Now you can go into your contacts list and scroll to the person you want to call.
you still can not dial the number with the key pad but who actually dials numbers anymore! lol
