*ESSENTIAL* message? When Doves Cry

When I sit down to read, inside of my room
I pick up a book and I start to swoon
The spine says poetry, my heart rate does rise!
I once again have sparkle in my eyes!
Yes, this is what I live for, for what I strive
Perhaps even the only reason I'm alive
But I open it up, and what do I see?
What is this garbage in front of me?
Just some randoms words, arranged on a page
It some sort of order, it brings me malaise
They don't even rhyme! That's what poems do
I vomit profusely, as if I have swine flu!
What's with these kids today? All of the time?
On writing bad poems, that don't even rhyme!
They can't be a poem, without like sounding words!
Without precious rhymes, they're meaningless turds!
So stop calling things that don't rhyme poems
Learn this important lesson, or simply go home.

I'm not being insular, I'm trying to get poetry back to its roots so people once again understand and tolerate it. Poetry has gotten a bad rap because it doesn't rhyme anymore, people think it's just a bunch of whiny "emo" teenagers thinking they own the world because they feel sad
YHWH you're not epic, you're a LIAR and a TROLL. Free-verse poetry isn't poetry at all. Wikipedia isn't a trusted source, everyone knows anyone can edit it with anythign they want.
No, I'm saying there should be more emotion than being sad because your parents wouldn't give you the car for the weekend - now i KNOW you're a troll because you defend the emos!
Just because poems rhyme doesn't make them GOOD - Shel Silverstein wrote some BELOVED poetry, that rhymed, but at least if emo kids would rhyme their "poems" then they wouldn't be bastardizing a beautiful art.
