I am currently in my last year in a prestigious university here in Canada, and I am studying business, specializing in accounting. My average won't qualify me to obtain the CA designation, which is equivalent to the CPA in the US, and my chances to work in accounting/finance are limited as well because of my marks.
I have always been interested in beauty and wanted to work for a beauty company. L'Oreal Canada has marketing/sales positions for students graduating in 2011 with a bachelor degree in commerce/business, such as myself. To work in marketing for L'Oreal would be the job of my dreams!! I wanted to ask anyone here who knows; do you think if I obtain a makeup artistry certificate, will it help me land the job? I mean perhaps if I am makeup artist as well a business graduate that will make me stand out from others who are applying for the same position and show that I am actually interested in the industry and very knowledgeable about beauty products. Or does it make no difference? I am concerned because taking a course in makeup artistry is not cheap and I would like to know if it will be a good investment...
