I would like to make a home built sound bar to for my sanyo tv to my sony stereo. No buks doin it myself.?

I am wanting to make my own sound bar to hook my tv to my stereo for more volume. I cant afford to buy one, but love building things with my hands. I just need a guide to go by to make it work.
