I recently asked a question about the comparison of gay being the new black and I referred to being gay as a lifestyle choice and I found that it really upset and offended some people by me making that statement. I apologize to those who were offended by my statement. I personally have always believed that being gay is a lifestyle choice and that it is more of a mental thing that develops than something that someone is born with. I have a hard time believing that someone is born gay. So I would like to hear from people in the gay community who can help me better understand the idea of a person being born gay with their experiences.
Please do not throw race into this! Being born black has nothing to do with what I asked. So leave race out of it please.
And also if I thought I knew more about it then you why would I be asking you??????
And to give you a better understanding of where I am coming from. When I was in school I had a friend who turned gay. During elementary and middle school he was always the one hitting on the girls, saying nasty things to them, smacking them on their asses things like that. He dated them regularly. When we got in highschool, he was introduced to an older guy and this guy turned him out and he liked it so he has been with men ever since. He would talk to me about his boyfriends and pretty much explained to me how he became gay. But he also still looked at women sometimes. So that is pretty much why I think of being gay as a lifestyle choice.
Chase and Zach: Thank you guys very much for your input. You have made some really good points and your comments on my friend's situation do make sense to me. You have given me a better understanding and I appreciate it Thanks : )
RadGal please be quiet. Your comments are not necessary or needed they are pretty pointless to me.
Especially your bullshit comment about black babies "turning" black very uncessary and just plain ignorant.
