The book I am looking for was published in the early 90's (i think) it starts off with a mass murder in a church/cathedral and the murderers steal the skulls of the the Three Wise Men. The story continues following the point of view of the Spec-Ops team that is tasked to bring the murderers to justice. In the story there is a lot of history of the of the early Jews, and the history and uncommon usage of gold. It follows the same type of conspiracy format of the Da Vinci Code.
