I Would Like Help Getting An MPEG-4 File Into Windows Media Player?

I have downloaded a film of the internet and its an MPEG 4 Movie
I Would Like to Stream This film from my laptop to my xbox and onto the tv screen

PS.. Im not a computer expert i i hardly ever use Windows media player so can i please have simple instructions from start to finish.
