...faith, without having researched..? or even worked a small amount to have even come to their OWN, personal decision of what path to follow? Too many people call themselves Christian or Catholic or what-have-you simply because their parents claimed they were, while half of their parents claimed they were this or that because THEIR parents were.... The cycle is practically never-ending! Does no one think for themselves anymore?! Seriously. Why doesn't everyone actually STUDY a few different religions, and come back and let me know if they still value their own before they jump down other people's throats for exercising their rights as a citizen (U.S. freedom of speech, freedom of religion...).
I just wish that anyone could truly debate the topic with any real intelligence on the topic, instead of just criticizing everyone else's belief systems...
Apparently, no one actually understood anything that I said; the question WAS: Why does everyone argue and debate without researching enough about VARIOUS religions that their debate might actually hold water...?
Also, @ Imacatholic 2: My claim doesn't need to be proven, because I said "TOO MANY PEOPLE CALL THEMSELVES...." ; I never said 85% or 97% or anything of the sort. It is my OPINION that TOO MANY people claim a religion that they do not know or understand much about...
This posted question was a rhetorical question to like-minded individuals so that I could vent and feel better; it was NOT posted so that I could have a bunch of fools sit at their computer and give me the third degree about how I'm supposively living my life all wrong. I'm a very nice and non-confrontational person normally, but if there is one thing that absolutely goes through me like nothing else, it's self-righteous jerks who need to stop telling everyone else how horrible they are for not doing things THEIR
