So, my mom is always yelling at me about how much she pays for and how she can't do it and how she wants me to move and all this stuff. My question comes to car insurance, I don't know anything about car insurance, I'm a 17 yr. old male, and I do need to drive to get to my high school because its 30 min. away, in CA. I want to get off my mom's plan and have my own. I have a job and pull in about $350 every two weeks, but i need to pay about $50 of that in gas, and itd be nice to have at least $100 out of that paycheck to save. What do I need to know about car insurance? What is essential that I have, but is pretty cheap still. One thing: I DONT NEED ANY COVERAGE on my car. If I total it I don't care, its a 1994 mercury cougar that I got for free and its falling apart anyways, I dont wanna pay anymore for it. Its barely worht 600. so please, just give me a run-down on what i need for car insurance and where and what would be the cheapest. thanks!
 
the best and cheapest car insurance is; crossing your fingers.

some big spenders sometimes touch wood as well.. depends what budget your on
 
Try progressive & get liability only which will cover any car that you hit or cause damage to. You don't want a cop giving you a ticket & towing your car in CA. It is very costly now.
