I watched President Obama last night. Why was a lifestyle change not discussed?

In 2006 I was as sick as a human can get. I had heart surgery 5 years before ans was heavily medicated by my primary physician. I changed my lifestyle and now I take NO PRESCRIPTION DRUGS, I eat right and I feel better than I did at 40. I am almost 74 now. Lipitor almost killed me as well as Vioox, Bextra and Baycol. All taken at the same time.All are toxic to humans.
