I was wondering why my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee engine revs up then goes back...

...when vehicle in cruise control? Every time I get up around 50 mph when keeping a constant speed, the engine will rev up randomly to about 3 RPMS, then shoot back down to 1 RPMS. I've never had this problem with any vehicle before, and can't seem to solve this dilemma. The check engine light also came on.
Seems to be a problem with the Throttle Position Sensor

you most likely just have a bad cruise control motor, or something in the censors is miss communicating
