your phone doesn't have the capibilities to have EDGE, so your phone will have GPRS. If you want EDGE you have to upgrade your device. I really don't think there is a difference between GPRS and EDGE.

Not all of PA has EDGE. Also if you are in little to no coverage, 2 bars or less, you will stay lower case. Call TMO and have them file a ticket for the area. It seems like it means nothing but they actually do follow up with it. I called in one for my mother in laws house, which is a black hole of cell service, about a year ago and got an email back last week stating that they are currently in planning with local town/county officials on putting up a new cell site. Not expected to be operational for 120+ days but they did follow up without me calling them.
