I went to the dermatologist this morning and she prescribed Finacea topical cream for my acne and redness. She also said to stop using the cleansers/creams I am using now and use cetaphil instead. She said cetaphil won't feel like it's really cleaning my face because it's creamy, but she said stick with it and don't use any additional facial lotion.

So, what's up with Finacea? Anyone tried it? The doctor said to use a Q-tip and apply only to the pimples because it lightens the skin and I don't want my entire face to get lighter, only the dark scars and pimples.

If you've tried Finacea, please tell me your story and any advice. And also, is cetaphil really that creamy? I hope I like it.

Thanks!

Hi! I have used Finacea for about 3 yrs. I really like it and it works great for me. I'm also using Retin-a Micro which has worked wonders for my face! I use the cleanser Cetafil (sp?) for "normal to oily" skin. It's not that creamy to me. Good Luck! Kym

Thanks! How exactly do you apply the finacea and where do you apply it? Only to pimples or everywhere?

I use it in the AM. before putting on my make up. I put it all over my face and it doesn't dry my skin up. Kym.

homari16: It's supposed to change your skin. It's supposed to make the dark scars and red roscaea lighter, which is why I was told to put it only on the dark spots.
