...but what to do with fish? The tank and fish were given to me all together and I must, of course, cycle the tank for the first time, here with me. I hear that you can have a couple hardy fish in the tank to help cycle it the first time through and then gradually add a couple more fish at a time after the tank has cycled. So couple questions more regarding this. How should I isolate the other smaller guppies while cycling the tank without them? I have a smaller holding tank for them but no filter, etc. Also, about how long does cycling take, and what kind of maintenance does the tank need while it's being cycled and how do I know when it's done?
