I was at gamestop and eb games and the guys said this to me about ps3 games?

i went there and me n him was talking and he told me that ps3 games are bluray so buy them used, because like scratches or w/e dont freeze the game (UNLESS ITS LIKE DEEEP) but like Nat scratches dont matter like on ps2, or 360 dvd discs? is this true or just trying to get a sale? bec like games are like 1994 and 29$ when new there like 49$
