I just got back from work and took a nap. Then about 3 hours later decided to go out and grab a bite to eat. Before I drove off I sat in my car (94/white/toyota/) to warm it up cause it was very cold out (15 degrees). All of a sudden a chicago police car pulls up the side of my still parked car and ask me to step out and slaps on handcuffs and tells his partner "Yea this is him" he then puts me in the squad car and tells me that I had better tell him the truth. I then told him "what are you talking about" he then tells me that I'll be going to jail for a long time for stealing a car. He then tells me that I stole a Honda thats why I'm being arrested and that I had better confess. At this time there is 12 squad cars and suv's outside the officer's squad car searching my still parked car.
After 15 mins sitting in the back of the squad car a female officer whom I never in my life seen opens the squad car and says to the other officer's "Yea that him... thats the muther fucker" then closes the squad car door. I then sit at the same location where my car is at for 15 more mins during this time I'm being told that it would be smart for me to confess. I kept telling them I didnt do anything. All this happened around the corner of my house where I park my car everyday. They then take me to the police station and take my finger prints and lock me up where they then transfer me to the cook county correction center where they make me put on a jail uniform and lock me up. I have posted bail in the amount of $500. And hired a lawler for $500 and lost my job because of this and am now homeless. I went to the priliminary trial but the judge sustained most questions my attorney had to ask such as "did you ever find any finger prints" that was never answered. I'm set to go to trail next in a month from now but I don't have money to pay for this plus the attorney tells me this can take long to clear my name costing me up to $5,000 dollars. This is my full story and the truth I need someone to help me seek justice against crooked cops what would be the best thing to do????I also found out after I was released that 2 traffic tickets were wrote out to me without my knowlege for driving a 95 tan honda civic with totally different licence plate number's from the car that I own which was parked while I warmed up my car. I later then found out that that honda was stolen and that I'm being Id ed as the driver of that car. I or none of my family nor friends own a honda and I have no knowlege of why or who was in that car or who stole it. Im being accused of this what can I do to prove i'm innocent? I live in chicago Il.
I'm 30 with a new born kid I don't have a police record and would never steal a car. I don't know who stole the car. period. And no I did'nt swap any plates to my car. My white toyota is registered under my name and the # on the plates on the traffic tickets that I later had in my property bag are for a honda civic which I have no knolegde of like I said this is my full and truthful story with nothing left out.
Im pretty much shocked my self at how this clearly is all a big mistake. HELP....FIND JUSTICE
