I wanted some tips for starting a small business/gift shop/flower shop?

My husband and I have been thinking about starting a small gift shop/flower shop in the next few years. Neither of us has experience starting a business, so we want some tips/advice from people who have successfully started a small business themselves. It's just something we've wanted to do :) Thanks y'all.
