complete overhaul? I dont know much about bikes other than riding them. I want to put more power and quality parts in it. All new lines, brakes, fairings the whole deal complete overhaul. I want more than mediocre parts but not top of the line unless they are affordable. Any help would be great.

chain is right - you will not add value to the bike by 'upgrading' parts.

But if you must - a full exhaust and good tune will yield 7-15 horsepower.

IMO, the best performance upgrade you can make is re-springing and re-valving of front forks, and a racing shock. Better handling is far more rewarding than more power.

...but I'm guessing you want more power anyway. honestly, it's cheaper and easier to CHANGE your power than add more. go -1/+2 with your gearing, and the bike will accelerate significantly faster.

also remove all unnecessary weight (body-weight included). the most dramatic changes will be felt with lighter rims, and other un-sprung components.

stainless steel brake lines and better brake pads (vesrah) are also a great upgrade.

aftermarket rearsets will make the riding position more aggressive, and also likely reduce weight. Vortex are my favorite, and look good.

Hi Frank,
You will do what you gotta do but.... You will lose twice for every "upgrade". The cost of the trick items is money thrown away and your stock bike is worth the most in stock, clean form. Sell your bike now for max recovery and buy a 1000cc. You will be way ahead in perfomance and much happier and you'll be on a stock bike again. Stock tends to be the most relaible as well.

Now to answer your question, I would go on line and click around to find parts houses specializing in the items you want.

leave it stock
why?
because you won't wanta keep it , soon you will want to trade it in on a bigger bike and the money you spend on add-ons will be wasted money.
I have made that mistake in the past, adding thousands of dollars in accessories and when either selling the bike or trading it in, not getting any extra for it
