Hi, I have had so many problems with vodafone (mobile phone service) over the last 2 years.
about half a year ago, I thought I was doing fine, because when I used their text service to check my account balance, it always came back saying I had nothing overdue...
But then I received a call from customer service saying I had 3 overdue bills.
I thought "oh crap I must have missed a few payments here and there..." so I forked out the money.
a few months later, the bills just kept getting bigger and bigger, and I just kept forking out more and more money.
I went into a store once, asking if I could change my phone, and they said no because apparently I had unpaid bills, when I was sure I had paid them, but they claimed that the payments hadn't come through.
I couldn't check my bank statements back far enough without paying the bank for a 2 year statement, so I just took vodafone's word for it AGAIN, and forked out more money.
another couple of months passed, only to find out I had a $1,700 bill racked up from god knows what.
I knew this was just pure garbage, so I filed a dispute through TIO, and ended up coming to an agreement to bring my account balance down to $300, and I paid that off.
Now once again, I have gone into a store, asking to change my phone, and they are telling me I have not paid in the last 4 months!
I wasn't going to stand for it this time, so I got a transaction record done of the last 6 months of all payments I had made to vodafone.
Surely enough, the payments were there, valid, and had not bounced back at all.
Vodaphone was receiving payments, but not recording them, then telling me to pay more each time.
They have put me and my family through so much financial stress, and laid all the blame on me every time.
Vodafone has been steeling money from me, and I want justis for the pain they have caused me and my family!
On these grounds, would I be able to sue Vodafone? and for how much?
and would Legal aid be able to cover me on this? I have pention, and have claimed legal aid before...
