I want to start running at my college gym?

I'm not overweight or trying to lose weight. Rather, I'm trying to get in better shape and tone my muscles since I haven't been exercising hardly at all. So I want to start running at my college gyms indoor track. Any advice on how much I should start running per day and week? I can easily handle a mile, just curious as to whats best...
