I graduated college and I have this really great idea (product) that I developed because I PERSONALLY needed something like that. Then I did market research and realized it has great market potential, there are other people like me out there.
So I told my parents I want to take a year or two break and concentrate on my business before I look for a job. They are against it and think I should get a job instead of trying to do business, and telling me it's a lottery for any business to work.
But I'm young and I can afford to take risks. And I'm not blindly trying to do anything stupid. I have done my research on the market and I have a solid business plan. And if this thing worked out, I could be richer than a lot of kids my age a lot faster.
Anything wrong with taking a few years off work and work on your business while you are in your 20s? I even invested about 20k of my own money that I've saved from my internships and I also got a few investors. I mean, yeah if the business fails, then I would've missed two years of salary, but if it succeed, I can make probably 5-10 times my salary in a year for each year. I think I'm taking a worthy risk and there will be no regret whatsoever. WHat do you think?
This is something I patented and will sell online. I'm tired of them telling me "you are just using it as an excuse not to work", or "it's not going to work out". I can't wait until I make a ton of money so they will be quiet.
