I want to send smtp auth mail with php.Help me plz?

i had try the class.phpmailer class to send smtp mail.it works but without authenticated mail, and i use username and password it don't work.Error msg shows "SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.".
How can i solve this problem?anybody help me
