Silverado Classic..is this possible? I recently bought a nice 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic. Only 17,500 miles. I looked under the hood..and couldn't believe the amount of room there was not being used. This is what brought me to wonder if I could put a bigger engine in this truck. I'm going to use it to pull my camper. The camper weighs 4500 lbs..so the truck with 4.3 vortec should be able to handle it. I would just feel more confident if I could put a bigger engine in the truck.

2nd part of the question.

I've never had this done before. Is there usually any problems that I will have if I replace the engine? As you can see, I'm not automotively inclined and any help I can get will be greatly appreciated.

This is not a good idea. The v6 you have is an excellent engine, and will live for many years, and will pull your 'camper' which I assume is a trailer, just take a little while longer to get where you are going, and use what you have, or trade pickups, however, you are asking if it is possible, and yes, it is doable...here is how,
first, there are several possibilities, go to ebay motors, there will be several variants of the LS V8 which came in the Silverado in 07, many will come with a complete wiring harness, motor mounts and computer, these ordinarily come out of a salvaged vehicle, and you can get everything needed, including the transmission...
second, you will not that the displacement of these engines are 4.8 liters, 5.7 liters, (not .8) and 6.0 liters, although in reality, all the LS engines will fit, eg, the vette, camaro, and gto engines/trans combos will fit in the pickup engine bay, no problem.
third, you start with removal, then put all the new stuff back...and pretty much destroy the value of the vehicle...take my advice, the 4.3 is an excellent engine, leave it alone, take good care of it, if you want a little more power, open up the exhaust-let a good exhaust shop do that for you, get a low restriction air cleaner, get a prom modifier program, this will give you about 25 to 35 more horsepower, with a commensurate amount of torque, will let your engine work easier, and you should have many years of great service by doing that...
