I want to paint over a wall that is splatter painted,but don't want to sand it....

...Any ideas? It was a nursery and now I want to make it a guest bedroom. I thought about painting it a Teal and using a darker teal color and splatter over it to help blend the texture. My husband didn't like that idea. I'm stumped...
