I want to paint a red latex nose green, do I need any special kind of paint?

I am thinking of dressing up as the Hitcher from Mighty Boosh. However I am having a hard time finding a green latex nose that looks similar, but I did find a couple red colored ones and skin toned ones. If I were to get them I would obviously need to change the color. I am wonderign if there is any special kind of paint needed, like oil based, water based.
