I want to lose weight while my husband is away for Marine boot camp.?

Eat 5 small meals a day that total no more that 250 calories each and walk at least 3 miles a day...you can also buy a stationary bike if the weather will not permit.
 
I am 5'3 and I weigh 210 lbs. Gross...I know. I got on the depo shot 2 years ago and gained weight like CRAZY and FAST!
Anyway, My husband will be leaving for the Marines in January. Im going to surprise him when he graduates boot camp and be down to atleast 170. He will only be in boot camp for 3 months. 40 pounds in 3 months is.....13.3 pounds a month....its possible I think.
What is the best way to lose the weight quick?
Im thinking lots of walking/jogging, some cardio and a change in the foods I eat. No more sprite for me!
