Catherine had been lied to with most of her relationships. She soon realized it wasn't her fault, men lied to her about having multiple girlfriends. But still. She could still apologize later.
Jean threw an arm around Catherine neck in a half chokehold and slammed her face into the hood of the car. The car alarm started and a shocked Catherine struggled to see clearly. Johnny turned the alarm off, he sat watching them face off. Johnny didn’t know if he should have stepped in. He didn’t want to have to manhandle anyone. What was she fighting for? Catherine thought. The man she had loved was not faithful. Dazed, she shakily got up and walked to the car door.
"I... I'm sorry, Catherine, I had to stop you." Looking down at her dirty hands, she slowly backed away.
Catherine stared at her from inside the car, her anger faded and she began to fall asleep from the alcohol. “I’m okay Jean, get in!”
