I live in New Mexico and grew up here as a kid I thought I was either Mexican or Chicana my family would say were Spanish...which pretty much covers all Latin cultures but of course you can get real technical if you want. This brings me to my question as I got older and learned more history about New Mexico and the Spaniards coming to settle here. I'm confused I'm a Spaniard. Do they accept me as a Spaniard in Spain or what I'm I?? I know I'm definitely not Mexican!! What's the real history behind New Mexico Spanish conquest. Where can Learn more about my background.
