I want to join the British army but....?

I can't in good conscience swear the oath required to enter.

'I (your name), swear by Almighty God that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, her heirs and successors and that I will as in duty bound honestly and faithfully defend Her Majesty, her heirs and successors in person, crown and dignity against all enemies and will observe and obey all orders of Her Majesty, her heirs and successors and of the generals and officers set over me.'

I'd be lying If I said I would be faithful and swear true allegiance to the queen, her heirs and successors. I don't have any allegiance to the queen, I think the idea of a monarchy in the 21st century is ridiculous, and keeping a family, who weren't democratically elected, to live lives of luxury is insane. My personal belief is that Britain should get rid of the monarchy, peacefully of course, and just have a parliament.

Has any former soldier in the British Army ever had this issue? Don't tell me I should say it anyway because I was always taught that an oath should mean something, it isn't something to lie about.
